AWE adds MRC88M multiroom controller to its Xantech range (27/3/2009)

AWE, the exclusive UK distributor of Xantech's comprehensive range of residential control and IR distribution products, has recently enhanced its offering by adding the new Xantech MRC88M controller to its range.

The MRC88M controller is an 8 source, 8 zone multiroom controller with amplification and is the upgraded version of the tried-and-tested MRC88 which has been successfully used by installers for many years. With faster serial control, intelligent power sensing, IR routing, 8 source selection and the same high levels of control and operation simplified into one neat easy to use system, the MRC88M controller is the heart of a powerful multiroom system.

That's why this reliable and proven switcher has been upgraded with metadata feedback, and also HD video switching capability via the optional HD-88. The Xantech MRC88M can also be combined with the Xantech XIS100 iPod dock or XiVaLink servers to give full metadata on the optional LCD touchscreens. A choice of in-wall keypad, in- wall LCD touchscreen and IR remote can control each zone and all are fully programmable by Xantech Dragon Drop PC software. PCs and other browsers such as i-Phones etc can also control the MRC88M through the MRWC web interface.

Each switched zone is provided with audio out and composite video outputs too, which is ideal for on screen selection from media servers, security cameras or general video sources. The video switching can be upgraded to HD over component or CAT-5, plus digital audio using the optional HD-88 products. Six of the zones have both audio amplification and pre-outs provided, whilst the other two zones are pre-out only.
