NAD Introduces T747 High Definition AV Receiver (16/4/2009) NAD Electronics has introduced the T747 AV Receiver, further enhancing the company's reputation for offering the latest high definition features and performance at a relatively competitive price. The T747 possesses everything needed to form the centrepiece of a high definition Home Cinema system, offering realistic audio, excellent video, NAD's highly refined user interface, numerous advanced features and a superb build quality. And, unlike brands that inflate their power ratings to impress, NAD's Full Disclosure Power ratings clearly spell out the receiver's capabilities under real world conditions. The T747 AV Receiver can fill an average size room with accurate sound levels, at up to 60 watts/channel, without the harsh, muddled sound common among lesser AV receivers. All seven channels offer the same high performance using high-current discrete output devices. The T747 includes the newest lossless audio CODECs from Dolby and DTS, including TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio, so that even discs lacking a TrueHD will benefit from the higher bit rates and discrete 7.1 channels supported by Dolby Digital Plus. An Auto Calibration function using a special microphone and test tone makes speaker set-up easy and highly accurate. High quality AM and FM tuners offer 50 station presets, as well as DAB ready sockets for clear access to digital broadcast using NAD's DB 1 adaptor. The T747 also supports NAD's optional IPD 1 and IPD 2 Docks for iPods, allowing audio, video and images stored on an iPod to be played directly on an NAD Home Cinema. On the video side, the T747 fully support signals up to 1080p resolution from HD set-top boxes and Blu-ray players, and includes 4 HDMI inputs with a repeater function that automatically passes along the HDMI signal after stripping the audio portion. It's capable of 'upscaling' older analogue video formats to digital HDMI output, and standard definition signals to HD using award winning Faroudja DCDi technology. The T747 offers a second independent A/V zone along with all the connections needed to integrate the receiver with advanced control systems. Two remote controls are included, one for the primary listening zone and one for the remote zone. The main remote also controls other NAD components, simplifying system operation. The NAD T747 AV Receiver is available now at a recommended retail price of £1000.00.
