Pacific Media Associates: 3LCD Technology Holds Strong Lead in Pro AV Projector Market (24/4/2009) 3LCD, the world's number one projection technology, ended 2008 as the clear leader in the Pro AV market. According to data from Pacific Media Associates (PMA), 3LCD maintained a lead over the competition with more than 77-percent market share during the period of January 2008 through December 2008(i). The valuable Pro AV channel includes school systems and universities, corporations and high-end home theater enthusiasts; serving some of the most demanding markets in the projection business today. Pro AV dealers provide service and support to their customers and require outstanding performance and reliability, and the Pro AV channel overwhelmingly continues to choose projectors with 3LCD technology, outselling all other technologies combined. The Pro AV market relies on 3LCD for key advantages such as 3-chip optical engines in all projectors - delivering bright, true-to-life images, and high Color and White Light Output for text and images that always look their best. 3LCD projection technology has consistently been the choice of users who demand long-life performance, reliability and energy efficiency, with more than 50 million chips shipped. "This year, we saw tremendous success in the Pro AV market, with more than 77-percent market share, an increase over last year's success," said Rina Bhuva, senior strategic marketing manager, 3LCD Technology. "This, combined with our global success in 2008, is evidence that the performance and capabilities of 3LCD technology are being widely recognized and utilized, and we are eager to see what this year will bring."
