Denon launches AVR-1610, AVR-1910 and AVR-2310 UK-tuned home cinema receivers (7/5/2009) Denon, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment components, is unleashing the awesome first models from its wonderful new wave of exemplary 2009 AV receivers. Set to hit these shores in June, the powerful and fully specified three-strong line-up of sub-£1000 designs deliver Denon’s best ever sound. This superior sound quality derives from the fact two of the new arrivals have been specifically tuned for the UK market. These latest models give consumers clever, powerful and simple ways to enjoy the best performance from today’s High Definition home entertainment formats, with leading-edge image enhancement technologies, HDMI 1.3a capability with support for Deep Color, advanced connectivity and the full gamut of Audyssey’s acoustic optimisation systems. The range comprises the entry-level, five-channel, 550 watts AVR-1610 (suggested retail price: £349), the seven channel, 840 watts AVR-1910 (SRP: £479), as well as the seven channel, 875 watts AVR-2310 (SRP: £849). Fundamental to the superior sound quality of the latter two models is the fact they have been tuned specifically for the UK market. This UK sound-tuned feature has enabled Denon to deliver its best ever sound. These models also embrace upconversion and scaling from all analogue sources to 1080p, as well as support for Dolby Pro-Logic IIz. All three new models offer Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, on-screen displays, and are compatible with Denon iPod dock control. Roger Batchelor, Denon’s UK product marketing manager, said, “These latest receivers once again raise the performance bar in the UK’s hugely competitive A/V receiver market. In particular, the UK tuning programme demonstrates Denon’s acknowledgement of the special importance of the domestic market, and we are confident the new series will entertain and thrill both new and existing Denon customers. We are also planning to announce changes to our mid-range to high-end receiver offering. Details on these changes will be released in late May.”
