CEDIA Website Redesigned to Highlight Specific Business and Training Tools for Members (15/5/2009) User-friendly design targets three audiences; related micro-site celebrates association's 20th anniversary The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has launched a redesigned version of its Web site. The new site, which will continue to be hosted at www.cedia.org, is designed to be both appealing and user-friendly for a variety of audiences. The Web site redesign will help CEDIA continue to meet its goals of providing exceptional services to its members and communicating members' capabilities to potential clients. The site's new interface features segmented content to target four different audiences: electronic systems industry professionals, design and build industry professionals, homeowners, and media. The homepage features quick and easy access to the site's most essential features, including the Electronic Lifestyles(r) Finder Service, popular events and offerings and international CEDIA offices. The redesigned navigation increases ease-of-use by first having the visitor indicate which audience they belong to, then directing them to the appropriate content. Content is grouped into categories such as "Membership & Services" and "Business Training & Tools," which expand to reveal related sub-topics. CEDIA's new site also simplifies the way individuals may find a CEDIA education event through an online map. Each state/region is populated with the events taking place in that area. Visitors can find this application under any section that says "Find a CEDIA Event." "The Web site redesign will allow members quicker and easier access to the tools they need from CEDIA," said Utz Baldwin, CEDIA CEO. "It also provides a more intuitive interface for users who come to CEDIA to learn more about the industry or to find professionals to do business with." In addition to redesigning its primary Web site, CEDIA has also launched a micro-site designed to celebrate 20 years since the founding of the association. The 20th anniversary site features a photo gallery, a forum where members can share their thoughts on the milestone and a look at the industry's future through CEDIA Crosspoint. The site also looks ahead to the special anniversary celebration that will take place during the Electronic Lifestyles(r) Awards Banquet at the 20th annual CEDIA EXPO in Atlanta September 9-13. www.cedia.org
