Sensible Heat announces updates to Integration products (22/5/2009)

Stand G11, CEDIA UK Expo 2009

WebManager – new features

Sensible Heat are delighted to announce an update of their popular WebManager integration platform. Intruduced in 2008, the WebManager offers a web-based user interface for the Honeywell Hometronic wireless HVAC control system.; we’ve now added several new features to the WebManager, making it even more useful to the Custom Installer. We’ll be exhibiting all of these new items at the CEDIA Expo 2009.

Philips Pronto interface

The WebManager can now be used as an interface for Philips Pronto TSU9600 and 9800, to allow the Pronto to control heating, hot water, towel rails etc within the property. You can view and adjust individual room temperatures, and turn on and off switched devices such as the hot water service, electric underfloor mats in bathrooms and so on. You can also use on-screen buttons to select Hometronic’s “Lifestyles”, which are whole-house macros for setting different occupancy modes (e.g. “away” mode, “no guests staying” mode). The WebManager communicates directly with the Pronto via a standard WiFi router, there is no need to use the Pronto Serial Extender product. The Pronto “driver” example project is available free-of-charge to approved Pronto integrators.

Current Cost Electricity Meter – smart metering, today!

The WebManager has now been enhanced by adding support for the Current Cost CC128 Electricity Meter. This new meter is a low cost, wireless, easy to retrofit unit which monitors electricity usage and displays it to the user. The CC128 display units connects to the WebManager via a USB cable, allowing the WebManager to collect the usage data from up to 10 transmitters around the house; the WebManager can then display graphs of the weekly usage from individual meters, which could be measuring consumption of different areas of the building, or even individual appliances. In this way, the homeowner can see exactly where and when electricity is being used in the house. Price of the CC128 is around £50, available on-line direct from Current Cost.

iPhone Interface for heating

The WebManager, in conjunction with products from iLinx and Netstreams, allows an iPhone user to control his Hometronic heating system. The iLinx product works in conjunction with a Netstreams Digilinx or Naimnet system. ILinx is available via the Apple Store. Price of the WebManager is £1250 plus VAT,
