Vogel's reaffirms its commitment to the channel (30/6/2009)

Vogel's, the European market leader in innovative audio and video equipment mounting and placement solutions, has appointed Midwich, Europe's leading specialist AV distributor*, as its primary channel distributor for the UK pro-AV market.

In a move that will see Micro-P, Westcoast and Maverick lose the franchise, Vogel's has decided to concentrate its efforts on a single AV distributor. Vogel's will therefore retain Midwich and appoint its sister companies, Invision UK and True Colours Distribution, to address the residential and technical AV installation markets respectively. Owl Visual Systems, a trading division of Midwich based in Lewes, will give Vogel's a presence in the leisure sector.

Roland van Marlen, business unit manager for Vogel's Professional, said: "At Vogel's Professional, we aim to work with and influence the leading installers and resellers in the UK and form partnerships with those companies looking for stylish and innovative mounts to enhance the solutions for their customers. We see Midwich as fundamental to growing our market share in the UK through their mainstream pro-AV resellers as well as through their sister companies Invision UK, True Colours Distribution and Owl Visual. Our target is to significantly grow our market share at the expense of existing mounting solution brands."

Commenting on the development, Darren Lewitt, divisional director at Midwich, said: "Vogel's is a vendor with strategic importance to Midwich and the brand has very ambitious growth aspirations. Vogel's mounts lead the industry in terms of innovation, functionality and build quality, and we will be working extremely hard to increase our attachment rates."
