CEDIA Reveals Finalists for Manufacturers' Excellence Awards (16/7/2009) The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has announced the finalists in the running for the annual Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards. Three products were chosen as finalists for the Best New Technology award, of which one will be selected as the winner, and 33 were chosen as finalists for the Best New Product award, of which 10 will be selected as winners. The winners will be announced at the Electronic Lifestyles® Awards Banquet and 20th Anniversary Celebration Sat., Sept. 12 during CEDIA EXPO 2009. The Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards announcement will also include the induction of the second group of products into CEDIA’s Product Hall of Fame. The Designer Awards, which will include dozens of awards for the best projects completed by electronic systems contractors, will also be announced at the banquet. The Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards Finalists were selected by a jury of five electronic systems contractors, each of whom has been in the electronic systems industry for at least 10 years. The Best New Technology category honors products with a release date after Sept. 30, 2009. Entries are judged on the basis of innovation, value to the technician, value to the business, and impact on the client's lifestyle. The Best New Product category honors products with a release date between Sept. 30, 2008 and Sept. 30, 2009. Entries are judged on the above listed criteria as well as on performance.
