Denon introduces DBP-2010 Blu-ray player (21/7/2009)
Denon, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment components, has introduced its latest Blu-ray player, which brings the company’s revered home cinema performance to a more affordable price point.
The Denon DBP-2010 Blu-ray player offers Profile 2.0 capability, multiple format playback, as well as leading-edge 10-bit video processing for both HD and SD sources.
The highly rigid, multi-layer chassis and proprietary centre-drive shielded mechanism ensures optimum performance at all times. For ultimate image quality, the DBP-2010 features leading-edge Anchor Bay Technologies VRS (Video Reference Series) processing for the highest-resolution video available via the HDMI 1.3a connection. It offers upconversion and IP scaling to 1080p/24, as well as 3D digital noise reduction and multi-cadence i/p detection. This works alongside an Analog Devices 12-bit/297MHz ADV7340 processor with six Noise Shaped Video DACs. Elsewhere you’ll also find an HDMI Source Direct feature for native resolution ouput.
The player’s audio section is equally impressive. It features 7.1ch analogue outputs with full decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The independent audio circuit design reduces interference for a superior home cinema experience. For those listeners who want to use the DBP-2010 as a step-up CD player, the unit offers a dedicated two-channel analogue audio output, equipped with high-class Burr Brown 192kHz/24bit audio D/A converters as well as other superior components to ensure the high level of sound quality for which Denon is renowned.
Among its innovative interactive features, the DBP-2010 includes built-in BD Live and Bonus View functionality. For easy connectivity, the newcomer comprises an onboard Ethernet port that allows for Internet connectivity for BD Live and firmware updates. Adding to its video handling capabilities, the player supports DivxHD and AVCHD playback from various media made from HD camcorders.
The Denon DBP-2010 will be available in July at a suggested retail price of £599. Colour variations are Premium Silver and Black.
