New RX Drivers By refining our FEA (Finite Elemental Analysis) we have developed new ways to shape our core driver material C-CAM® in the cause of even greater fidelity. We’ve improved the tweeter design for Silver RX, bringing higher sensitivity and a wider bandwidth for greater high frequency resolution. Advanced FEA simulations have also helped the process of fine-tuning the RST® (Rigid Surface Technology) C-CAM mid-range/bass drivers, originally created for our celebrated Gold Signature speakers and now incorporated by the Silver RX range. Their super-stiff dimpled profiles are now more resistant to break-up under high drive conditions and so produce a wider range of purer frequencies. HiVe®II (High Velocity) Reflex Port Developed for the flagship Gold Signature range, the HiVe®II reflex port is shaped to have the same effect on airflow as a gun-barrel on a bullet. Rifled grooves inside the port help to accelerate the flow and reduce turbulence, so air moves in and out of the port more efficiently, for a faster more dynamic bass response. Bolt-through Driver Design Single bolt-through driver fixings have the dual effect of improving cabinet rigidity while further reducing vibration at the driver/cabinet interface. By this innovative method, drivers are mounted on a single tensioned through-bolt, which is secured to back of the cabinet. The bolt not only acts as a rigid cabinet brace to reduce box colouration, it removes the need for conventional driver fixing as well, effectively decoupling the driver and front baffle to eliminate another source of unwanted resonance. The result is a more fluid communication of mid-range frequencies, and with the absence of driver fixings at the baffle, a cleaner more refined overall appearance – especially in tandem with RX’s ‘invisible’ magnetic grille location. Cabinet design and finishes Cabinets are constructed from 19mm MDF throughout (25mm for RXW12), and in conjunction with bolt-through driver bracing, employ additional radial and cross-bracing for high box rigidity and low cabinet colouration. All RX speakers are available in a choice of selected premium quality wood veneers or high gloss piano finishes. Magnetic grille fixing makes attaching and removing the grille easier and provides a cleaner look when the grille is removed. New Silver RX Models Silver RX 1 The diminutive RX 1 two-way is configured to offer an impressively natural, rhythmic sound in a beautifully compact and practical form. New C-CAM® tweeter design with damped rear chamber; new 6” bass driver with C-CAM® cone profile incorporating RST® technology; Silver RX 2 The larger RX 2 is designed as an audiophile stand-mount 2-way speaker, having the efficiency and bandwidth of a much larger speaker, while being easier to position around the home. New 8” bass driver with C-CAM® cone profile incorporating RST® technology for better damping and improved midrange clarity. Silver RX 6 The elegant floor-standing RX 6 places the new wider-bandwidth RX tweeter in concert with freshlydesigned 6” C-CAM® bass and 6” C-CAM® bass/mid drivers to form a balanced two-and-a-half way system incorporating a dual chamber bass reflex design with differential tuning and twin HiVe® ports. An adjustable base plinth is supplied for added stability. Silver RX 8 The floor-standing RX8’s ultra-slim front profile conceals a deeper cabinet, which provides the volume needed for seismic levels of bass from twin 6” bass drivers configured in a dual bass reflex twin HiVe® port system. A single 6” bass/mid driver delivers naturally vibrant midrange sound, while the newly developed C-CAM® gold dome tweeter smoothly extends high frequency performance to a point way beyond the upper limit of the audible spectrum. Silver RX Centre The RX Centre’s radical 2 ? -way design has been finely calibrated to match the dynamics and timbre of the other RX speakers for a seamless front sound stage in any RX system. Within the RX Centre’s sealed enclosure, 6” C-CAM® bass and bass/ mid-range drivers, sitting astride the C-CAM® gold dome tweeter, provide the exceptional upper bass and mid-range clarity that is necessary to any successful centre-channel speaker. Silver RX-FX The wall-hugging RX-FX surround speaker is discreet enough to be flush-mounted on side or rear walls but provides an enveloping timbre-consistent surround sound. It’s also immensely flexible and can be set-up for dipole/ bi-pole modes at the flick of a switch. It employs dual C-CAM® tweeters and a single 6” C-CAM® bass/mid-range driver. RXW-12 The surprisingly compact but substantial (25mm MDF) RXW-12 active subwoofer uses a new 500 watt (RMS) Class D amplifier to control with brutal efficiency a newly-designed front-firing 12” C-CAM driver. The RXW-12’s sealed enclosure promotes the fastest, deepest bass down to 20Hz and makes installation easier. The tri-suspended driver has a large 3” voice coil and double stack motor system for high power handling and low distortion. A 12-volt trigger - provides switching control from AV amp or processor. It features a top mounted control panel for easy access.
