düwi adds Z-Wave Technology to Busch Jaeger Duro 2000 series of switches (18/8/2009)

The düwi company, supplier and manufacturer of electronic accessories, has expanded its product portfolio with another innovative series of switches. It combines proven Z-Wave radio technology with the Busch Jaeger Duro 2000 series, and allows for wireless communication of switches with one another and with other home control solutions that are based upon the worldwide Z-Wave standard. düwi thus integrates a switch series that is one of the best-selling in Germany into the product assortment it offers, and into its Z-Wave radio system.

Owners of the Duro 2000 switch series from Busch Jaeger will be able to upgrade it to the Z-Wave radio standard. The wall transmitters and radio switches developed by düwi and based on Z-Wave will then be 100% compatible with the Busch Jaeger series. The extremely flat wall transmitters from düwi do not require a power connection and can be easily added to existing switch combinations because of a specially developed support ring. It is therefore possible tailor to a home to one's individual needs without having to pry open walls or replace the high-quality Busch Jaeger switch program. In addition, existing switches can now be quickly and affordably converted to Z-Wave radio switches, dimmers, etc. This wireless solution therefore fits into any living space without much added expense, and creates possibilities of networking with the over 300 home control products offered by the more than 170 companies of the Z-Wave Alliance worldwide.

Cableless Operation over Radio Wall Switch

Furthermore, the düwi product portfolio also includes Z-Wave radio modules like dimmers and Venetian blind switches that can be installed in existing in-wall sockets and canopies. Together with adapter plugs, this can produce a close-meshed radio network. The Z-Wave radio standard established worldwide provides for secure and reliable transmission of radio signals.

Adapts Quickly to Spatial Conditions

On top of that, the switch system can be disassembled without a problem and installed again in other premises. So there are practically no limits to the home control solution scenarios that can be implemented, in the areas of illumination, heating and climate control, entertainment and security systems, or even remote home monitoring.
