Planet Waves Introduces Port Savers and HDMILok for simple and secure connections (27/8/2009) Port Savers Solve Depth and Attachement Difficulties; HDMILok Clip Makes Planet Waves HDMI Cable Lock Securely Planet Waves is pleased to introduce the Port Saver and HDMILok, each product being an innovative solution to common custom installation challenges. Port Savers from Planet Waves are an instant solution to depth and attachement issues when mounting any display. Port Savers allow the user to plug the HDMI cable into the Port Saver after the display is mounted, simplifiying installation and removal of any display. The Planet Waves Port Saver allows for easy hookup (available in three configurations to meet different display needs) and disconnect and can be locked to any Planet Waves HDMI cable with the new HDMILok from Planet Waves. A clip that turns any Planet Waves HDMI cable into a locking HDMI cable, the new HDMILok, provides a secure connection for HDMI connections as well as Planet Waves’ new Port Savers. The unique clip easily and securely locks the Planet Waves HDMI cable to any component with an HDMI lock screw, allowing for secure installations every time. “There are a variety of issues faced in mounting almost any of today’s video displays due to shallow mounting depths, side mounted plug-ins, etc.,” says Rob D’Addario, Planet Waves Custom Installation Business Unit Manager. “The placement of HDMI receptacle ports on these devices makes it difficult, if not impossible, to plug in a regular HDMI cable and hide the wires. Port Savers can be installed on the back of the display prior to installation on a bracket which then allows for easy hook-up/disconnect to the HDMI line and can be locked for a secure connection with the HDMILok. Every display installation can benefit from the use of a Port Saver and HDMILok.” The Port Savers will retail for $17.99 and HDMILok for $4.99 per pair.
