TASCAM Launches Dedicated Sales and Support for UK AV and CI Channels (1/9/2009)

TASCAM, the professional audio products division of TEAC Corporation, has established a dedicated sales and support service for the professional AV and CI sectors in the UK. The initiative is intended to promote the advantages of the professional audio company’s new solidstate recorder series, which offers next generation digital media storage, playout and network management capabilities for AV and CI applications.

TASCAM AV UK, headed up by Sales and Support Manager Gary Maguire, is focussing resources on the AV and CI integrators to promote the technological and operational advances offered by its new solidstate products over disc media and commodity PCs in pro Av and CI installations. The new products offer the advantages of Compact Flash (CF) card and USB media with no moving components, file based media management, removable storage devices, and network capabilities.

The TASCAM solidstate series comprises three 1U rackmount models, all employing CF card media; the HDR1, SSCDR1 and SSR1. The networkable HDR1 additionally provides USB, Ethernet and Euroblock connectivity. The SSCDR1 combines CF and CD recording and playback. All units feature RS232 and parallel control.

TASCAM AV UK provides dedicated sales and support for AV installers and CI integrators, responding to their particular requirements. Service features include a dedicated sales and service number – 01923 438848 – 24 hour turnaround on product delivery or replacement, FOC loan stock in the event of products requiring repair, and personal on-site training and technical support for TASCAM appointed installers and integrators.

TASCAM has a long established presence in the UK AV sector, and parent company TEAC is a major force in the consumer audio. TEAC first began supplying open reel tape recorders to professional installers over 50 years ago, and subsequently its professional TASCAM division has developed professional cassette, CD, DVD and MD based systems for the market, as well as amplification and control devices. TASCAM products of all types have found favour with installers, earning a reputation for exceptional reliability and build quality; around 75% of UK installers carry TASCAM product lines.
