HAI Introduces IP-Based Advanced Energy Display Options for Home Automation (7/9/2009) CEDIA US Expo 2009 HAI will demonstrate the Energy Management and Automation products in Booth 743 at the CEDIA EXPO in Atlanta, Georgia on September 11-13, 2009. HAI will demonstrate the IP-based products in Booth 733 at Autovation in Denver, Colorado, September 13th-16th. Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products since 1985, announced the availability of IP-based advanced energy display options. North America's most prolific home automation systems are being linked with the Smart Grid by industry leader, HAI. HAI manufactures a family of central home control systems that manage lighting, temperature, security, audio/video, surveillance, access control, and more. These products can now be linked with Smart Grid related programs including Demand Response, Time of Use pricing, and Energy Awareness. HAI's new OmniTouch 5.7e and OmniTouch 10p Touchscreens are capable of displaying real time information about a home's energy consumption, the current cost of energy, and notifications from the utility company. HAI's Omni and Lumina family of home control systems can also respond to changes in energy cost by controlling energy consuming devices in the home such as air conditioners, lighting, hot water heaters, pool/fountain pumps, and more. "HAI is delighted to offer this connectivity between our product offerings," said HAI President, Jay McLellan. "Energy usage display is a common request amongst our customer base and we're happy that the interface can now be customized by utilities as well." HAI offers a full suite of products that cover any type of Home Area Network application including In Home Displays, Load Control Modules, and Programmable Communicating Thermostats that are designed to use the ZigBee Smart Energy, Sensus FlexNet, and is expandable for additional technologies. Designed for Time of Use, Duty Cycling, and Energy Awareness programs for utility companies interested in Smart Grid and tailoring load profiles for best use of assets.
