SpeakerCraft Debuts New 'Vital' Subwoofer Line (7/9/2009) CEDIA US Expo 2009 Vital™ Subs to replace BassX models SpeakerCraft, the world leader in custom installed loudspeakers and electronics, announced the introduction of three new free-standing subwoofer models. A dramatic upgrade from the vaunted BassX series, the new Vital™ Subs offer more output, greater efficiency and improved aesthetics. “SpeakerCraft has always been a major supplier of subwoofers to our dealer base,” said Dave Donald, SpeakerCraft’s V.P. of Marketing. “As we listened carefully to our dealers’ suggestions we created these new Vital™ Subs that give our dealers an even more impressive offering with improved sonic punch and musicality they have been requesting.” There are three models in the Vital™ Sub line featuring 8, 10 and 12-inch drivers with 80, 120 and 250 watts of power respectively. All models have automatic signal sensing power on/off, overload protection, phase control, an adjustable low-pass filter as well as inputs for both stereo and LFE channels. The driver is front facing with dual ports in the front baffle as well. This is advantageous for subs that will be loaded into wall units or other cabinetry. A resessed level control is located on top of the cabinet allowing easy access regardless of the subs position. “This has been a major project over the past year and we are very pleased with the results,” remarked Alex Chiou, SpeakerCraft’s Manager of Loudspeaker Development. “Dealers are going to be very impressed with the sound quality as well as the fit and finish of these models.” MSRP on the three models are $465 for the V8, $589 for the V10 and $839 for the V12. All models will be on display at the CEDIA Expo in Sept. and shipping in the first quarter of 2010.
