dnp presents its new Supernova Epic CS screen in a fixed Cinemascope format featuring award-winning optical technology and screen sizes from 96” to 156”

The Supernova Epic CS screen is the ‘director’s cut’ version of dnp’s award-winning Supernova Epic. The screen is optimised to deliver a perfect viewing experience with movies in the popular Cinemascope format.

The Supernova Epic CS Screen is targeted at dedicated movie fans who prefer to watch films in the intended format. Moreover, the ISF-certified screen material delivers the highest possible image quality.

As dnp Product Manager, Johnny Jensen, explains, “If your ambition is to move the cinema experience into your own living room, the Supernova Epic CS screen is the obvious choice. The realistic colour reproduction is simply amazing — even in brightly-lit rooms — and with the perfectly curved screen you are virtually surrounded by the movie!”

The curved screen solves a series of well-known shortcomings in traditional home-cinema setups. It prevents pincushion distortion and enhances both the perceived depth and uniformity of the image. Together with the completely passive, shimmer-free surface the Supernova Epic CS screen lets the viewer enjoy the movie without being distracted by the screen behind it.

Screen composition

The Supernova Epic CS screen is made up of seven high-tech layers to ensure a superior viewing experience. These include a unique optical lens film to reduce the impact of ambient light and ensure better image contrast, a reflection layer for revolutionary half-gain angles up to ± 85° and a black colour layer that sets new standards for colour reproduction. A hard surface coating makes the screen scratch resistant and gives a shimmer-free image.

The Supernova Epic CS Screen is available in the following screen sizes (in 2.40:1 format): 96”, 108”, 120”, 132”, 144”, and 156”. Screens are also available in customized sizes on request.
