HAI and Russound team up to improve integration support (17/9/2009) CEDIA US Expo 2009 HAI and Russound team up to improve integration support, making the Sphere E-Series, C-Series and Russound's family of RNET controllers available on HAI's IP-Based OmniTouch Touchscreens Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products since 1985, announced that the OmniTouch 5.7e (53A00-2) and OmniTouch 10p (67A00-1) Touchscreens now feature a newly designed user interface to fully integrate with Russound's high end E-Series products offered through the Sphere Program, C-Series and family of RNET Controllers. Additionally, audio command functionality has been added. HAI's OmniTouch 5.7e and 10p Touchscreens facilitate control of lights, temperature, security, audio/video, and more. The IP-Based OmniTouch Touchscreens can be fully customized using HAI Automation Studio (1126) customization software, including the addition of floor plans and custom images, as well as foreign language support. They also have the ability to view supported IP cameras and control of entertainment components from an HAI Touchscreen. Integrating Russound and HAI gives homeowners the ability to select and distribute music from any audio source to different rooms in the house - simulatenousely and independently. The HAI IP-Based Touchscreens can control on/off, volume, muting, transports, audio source, and many other functions for each zone. Additionally, custom audio icons can be set up on Touchscreens such as "Play Favorite Music" that turns on specific zones and adjusts volume to pre-determined levels. The IP-Based Touchscreens integrated with Russound now display new buttons and new configurations, as well as a simulated LCD screen. Depending upon which Russound system is being used, the IP-Based Touchscreens can display up to four lines of metadata. This includes artist, title, track, album, and playlist; the equipment source and zone are displayed in the simulated LCD screen. The design and colors of the interface can be customized using HAI's Automation Studio. The integration is as simple as connection via serial port. The controller automatically recognizes that the Russound system is connected, and the appropriate screens are visible on the Touchscreens. "HAI worked closely with Russound to develop the new screens and functionality," explains HAI Embedded Systems Engineer, Aaron Ard. "The ability for the dealer to customize any aspect of the interface if desired is a fantastic feature as well." "Integration partnerships with companies like HAI are very important to Russound," said Petro Shimonishi, VP of New Business Development. "This new functionality that we've developed with HAI will make our joint dealers very happy by saving them crucial programming time and delivering a higher level of functionality to their customer." *#1 Brand in Multiroom Audio according to EH Research for Brand Awareness from 2005 to 2008. www.homeauto.com
