CEDIA US Expo 2009

Lutron takes flagship product to the next level, with renewed focus on saving energy

Lighting control manufacturer Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., is pleased to introduce HomeWorks QS Wireless – a light control system with unprecedented capabilities, including temperature and audio/visual control, plus the ability to monitor and save energy.

Lutron’s HomeWorks system is the whole-home light control solution preferred by homeowners and installers for over a decade. Now, HomeWorks QS Wireless brings consumers a completely new, whole-home, wireless light control solution with powerful new features, including:

* Expanded Control Options - HomeWorks QS Wireless goes beyond the scope of light and shade control by adding control of temperature and audio/visual components – extending the utility of the system.
* The Power of Quantum® - This total light management system now comes to the residential market with software advancements such as:
o Hyperion™ Solar Adaptive Shading – This program provides complete control of window coverings based on the position of the sun. State-of-the-art technology is used to calculate the appropriate position of window treatments based on the geographical location and orientation of the home.
o Green Glance™ – This program allows homeowners to track how much energy they are saving using HomeWorks QS Wireless via a display screen.
* Energy Capabilities – HomeWorks QS Wireless makes it simple for homeowners to save energy with:
o Control and dimming of high-efficacy lights sources, such as LED and fluorescent
o Radio Powr Savr™ occupancy/vacancy sensors - ensure that lights are only on when the room is occupied
o Radio Powr Savr daylight sensors - provide the appropriate balance of electric and daylight based on the available light in a space.
* Architectural Aesthetics - Vierti® and Stanza™ style dimmers, switches and keypads are available in a variety of colors and sleek finishes, giving homeowners a myriad of choices to complement or contrast with their décor. Designer style Maestro® dimmers and accessories are also available.
* Reliability- HomeWorks QS Wireless operates via Lutron’s new Clear Connect™ Radio Frequency (RF) technology, Lutron’s robust, wireless technology, designed specifically for lighting control systems. Clear Connect RF technology ensures that HomeWorks QS Wireless will work the first time and every time.
HomeWorks QS Wireless can be comprised of up to 1,500 devices. System components, which are PC programmable, include:
* Dimmers
* Switches
* Keypads
* Sensors
* Shades

HomeWorks QS Wireless components will begin shipping in April of 2010.
