AWE adds Designer Kits to its range of Xantech residential control and IR distribution products (1/10/2009)

AWE, the exclusive UK distributor of Xantech’s comprehensive range of residential control and IR (infra-red) distribution products, has strengthened its Xantech IR kit range, improving on all key aspects to enhance appearance and make installation on site quicker, as well as improving performance too.

Their use allows installers to hide equipment such as DVD Player, AV receiver, and other AV equipment in another room for a clean looking installation with the only product seen on show being the Xantech discrete IR Receivers. Pre packaged retail kits have great POS packaging and include a receiver, four emitters, a connecting block and a power supply.

The major change sees the receivers and emitters having been significantly re-styled, hence the new D (Designer) product coding. The casework has been re-designed to give the Xantech emitters and receivers a more aesthetically pleasing and unobtrusive appearance when installed in the home, whilst simultaneously giving a larger surface contact area for improved adhesion in warm AV racks! The 291D and 480D receivers are supplied in black, silver or white finish whilst the 480D recessed in-cabinet receiver is available in a brass finish with black and white caps to fit the bezel, where required.

In addition, the introduction of colour coded plugs to the 291D Hidden Link, 480D Dinky Link and 490D Micro Link receivers. These match coloured jacks on the connecting blocks to ensure fast, easy and trouble-free installation, especially important for those installers new to using Xantech products or working in tight spaces!

Meanwhile, the Xantech 282D and 283D IR emitters are now available with an optional short cable and quick connect jack on the end. This eliminates the hassle of removing the lead and prising the emitter eye off the front of the equipment when the kit needs to be removed from the rack. Instead, the device can be unplugged easily, leaving the connector in place ready for simple reconnection when required. A number of the Xantech IR kits are available in multi bags, allowing installers to save money by buying in bulk.

The 291D, 480D and the 490D receivers are suitable for all areas of home installation and can be provided in standard, LCD/CFL proof and the only true plasma proof versions, patented by Xantech. Do not confuse these with inferior products claiming to do the same job as Xantech are the world leaders in IR distribution and have several unique aspects to the design.
