Imerge enhances its flagship MediaServer MS1 (1/10/2009)

Revealed during CEDIA EXPO 2009, the latest updates for Imerge’s flagship MediaServer MS1 deliver an unparalleled user experience

Imerge, the Cambridge-based pioneer of hard disk home media servers, is delighted to announce a raft of enhancements for its top-ofthe- line MediaServer MS1 and XiVASafe hard disk storage system – the world’s most advanced management and archiving solution for high-definition music and movies.

These updates will be shown for the first time during CEDIA EXPO 2009, in Imerge’s demonstration suite at the Glenn Hotel.

The list of enhancements includes:

• Full HD Playback: Native 1080p support (qualifying content signified by ‘HD’ symbol on the GUI).
• New Firmware Updates: Including parental control facility, advanced metadata editing, control application for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch (see image below).
• Triple Layered Metadat: Gracenote, AMG and GD3 databases all supported, delivering unrivalled metadata and cover art coverage.
• Imerge-GD3 Metadata Submission Tool: Special application allows authorised dealers and end-users to upload their own metadata and cover art.
• Fast Bulk-Loading Solution: Bulk-loading content is now quicker and easier than ever.
• 2TB Drives: Imerge is switching from 1TB to 2TB drives as standard, thereby doubling storage capacities and delivering even better value for money. This will initially apply to the top-of-the-line XiVASafe iSCSI storage components (so, for example, a 6TB system becomes 12TB and so on), with more storage options to follow.
• Digital Safe: The XiVASafe iSCSI storage system now has the ability to store all data from a home network, delivering the ultimate super-secure (RAID 6) NAS/backup solution.

In addition to these MS1 updates, Imerge is also showing its new Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the single-chassis MediaServer MS5000 – the mainstay of many custom installations around the world. This greatly enhanced GUI is now identical to the MS1 and includes the firmware updates described above.
