Convergent Home Technologies introduces its Cascade Media TV and multi-media server (2/10/2009)

Convergent Home Technologies Ltd (CHT) has extended its product range by the introduction of a Media only system – Cascade Media - suitable for the more budget conscious or those wanting to install a flexible media system.

Cascade Media can store CDs, DVDs TV recordings and iTunes library all in one place and allows playback in any room. Live and recorded TV can be watched and Cascade includes PVR functionality throughout the home including pausing live TV. Sky programmes can also be recorded by the system and viewed in the same way. Digital radio is available and digital photos and home videos can also be stored and viewed anywhere.

Cascade comprises of a stylish under TV box with a small ‘media player’ located in any other rooms included in the system. ‘Media players’ can be freestanding or attached to the back of a TV. TV can be Freeview or Freesat (including HD) plus Sky capture.

Cascade media players can be completely wireless, but a wired solution might be preferred.

As needs change or there is a wish to include more home automation features then the system can be upgraded to Cascade Smart Home without throwing any of the Media system away. Cascade Smart Home includes all of the features of Cascade Media as well as a wide range of home automation and security features similar to those offered by Dianemo and other full home automation systems.
