NuVo Technologies wins CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Award for Second Year (5/10/2009)

Custom installation market recognises whole home audio manufacturer’s vision, innovation and value.

NuVo Technologies, the value leader in whole home audio, proudly announces that it has won a CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) Manufacturers’ Excellence Award for the second consecutive year.

Out of hundreds of entries and 30 finalists, NuVo’s groundbreaking Renovia whole home audio system was one of a select 10 entries named Best New Product. The award for Renovia, presented at CEDIA EXPO 2009 in Atlanta earlier this month, follows last year’s Best New Product Award for NuVo’s Essentia E6G whole home audio system. NuVo was one of only two repeat winners for Best New Product this year.

Both NuVo products recognised by CEDIA are leading the custom installation channel in exciting and lucrative new directions: the retrofit/existing homes market and energy-efficient offerings.

Renovia is a high-quality, easy-to-install and easy-to-use whole home audio system that uses the existing electrical wiring in a home as the infrastructure for delivering audio and metadata from multiple sources to multiple rooms. Based on industry-standard HomePlug power line carrier technology, Renovia represents a breakthrough in that it enables custom installers to bring whole home audio to the retrofit/existing homes market much more easily than ever before. Until now, installers needed to cut holes in drywall and pull Cat-5 cabling throughout the home—a messy, costly, time-consuming proposition for both the installer and the homeowner. Renovia will launch in Europe in the first quarter of 2010.

Essentia E6G, meanwhile, is the industry’s first, and still the only, whole home audio system to earn the coveted ENERGY STAR®. Installers with energy-conscious and environmentally-responsible clients can propose this six-source, six-zone system as a unique and compelling alternative to competing systems.

The CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Award caps a year of accolades for NuVo. In March, NuVo won Mark of Excellence Platinum Awards from the Consumer Electronics Association for Best Green Product, Service or Corporate Policy and Best Wireless Product (for its Wireless Control Pad). At CEDIA EXPO 2009, in addition to its CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence award, Renovia also received a CE Pro BEST (Best Electronic Systems Technologies) Award, and NuVo received a CustomRetailer EXC!TE Award.
