Russound Announces Integration with Philips Pronto (5/10/2009)

CEDIA US Expo 2009

New Russound Add-On Increases Control Panels Capabilities And Installers’ Bottom Lines

Russound, the #1 brand in multiroom audio, is now offering integration professionals the opportunity to give their clients custom Russound modules for the Philips Pronto TSU-9800, TSU-9600 and TSU-9400 control panels. These modules support the high-end E-Series controllers offered through Russound’s Sphere Certification Program, as well as the Russound C Series, CAV, CAM and CAA Series Controllers. The modules are available as free downloads from Russound’s web site.

“Russound and Philips are two of the most respected brands in the home entertainment market because of our commitment to customer service and irreproachable strengths in our respective product categories,” said Andy Lewis, Russound’s Director of Product Management. “By joining forces on this particular project, we’re able to give custom pros an opportunity to increase sales with a genuinely unique step-up product.

“Now Pronto users can enjoy the benefits and control of their Russound systems as well as other home theater, HVAC, security, and lighting control devices.”

After the Russound Pronto module is installed, a Pronto TSU-9800, TSU-9600 or TSU-9400, provides control of and two-way feedback from the Russound products. The Pronto control panel displays source and zone names, volume level, system status and metadata from Russound Smart Sources like the iBridge® Dock, iBridge Bay, SMS3 Smart Media Server, and ST2 Family products. Radio Data System (RDS) information is also available when “communicating” with E-Series and C-Series equipped internal tuners.

“We are continuously looking to increase the value of our Pronto portfolio by expanding its menu of capabilities” said Rudy Musschebroeck, Marketing Manager of Philips Pronto. “That’s why we are so excited about this program. The combination of Russound and Pronto delivers greater benefits for end-users, without adding any cost to the remote or requiring any programming efforts by installers.”

Russound’s modules for the Philips Pronto TSU-9800, TSU-9600 and TSU-9400are currently available as free downloads from the integration section of the Document Center located at http://www.russound.com/doccenter.
