D-Tools Unveils 3D Model Library for Google SketchUp (5/10/2009)

Smart blocks allow designers to design 3D systems with FREE Online Design Tool

D-Tools, Inc., the worldwide leader in system integration software, today announced the development of a library of 3D shapes for use with Google SketchUp, the world’s leading free 3D design application. The library will feature AV, Energy/Solar, IT, and Security product shapes that can be used to design 3D systems in the Google SketchUp environment. The product libraries will be available for users to download at no cost. D-Tools will be demonstrating these new 3D shapes at in booth #1757 at CEDIA Expo September 10-13th.

“We are extremely excited to be able to take our years of design expertise and move to what we believe will be part of the next generation of system design,” said Adam Stone, President and CEO of D-Tools. “The D-Tools 3D Model Library for Google SketchUp will enable system designers in a variety of industries to build complete 3D models based on the Google SketchUp platform, and we are working on integrating these new 3D models into the D-Tools data model – which will make it possible for our customers to design, document, and deliver their projects in both 2D and 3D environments.”

D-Tools demonstrated The 3D Model Library for Google SketchUp at CEDIA EXPO, and the free downloads will be available by the end of Q3 2009. Google SketchUp is available as a free download.
