Opus’ WCU600 touchscreen was launched last year to rapturous acclaim taking the British manufacturer of multi-room entertainment and control systems to the forefront of the smart home market.

At the same time, Opus unveiled its Integrated Partner Programme (IPP) to enable integration with the very best in custom install and other leading technologies. Today, a wide array of leading brands and products can be controlled or indeed control the Opus system thanks to a range of specially developed drivers which enable a simple, unified user experience.

And now, Opus, has introduced an amazing new iPhone app called Opus Touch which enables the familiar Opus interface to be replicated on an iPhone or iPod touch for unparalleled user control.

The Opus Touch iPhone App benefits installers by adding real value and functionality with minimal additional cost to new Opus systems. Alternatively iPhone/iPod touch control can be easily retrofitted to existing Opus installations for an easy-to-install yet cost-effective upgrade.

For end users, this new App provides highly affordable intuitive remote control of the Opus system and all connected devices including Apple TV, media servers, scene lighting, climate control and even CCTV. And for complete synergy, Opus Touch dynamically follows the customised set-up of Opus touchscreens with real time feedback on the user’s iPhone or iPod touch.

Using in-built Wi-Fi technology, the iPhone and iPod touch can natively communicate with the Opus system via the new ICU600 Ethernet to serial adaptor. This cost-effective accessory connects to the Opus system and the customer’s home network and is now available from Certified Opus installers.

The new Opus iPhone App is now available free of charge from the iTunes App Store and is compatible with all Opus WCU600 touchscreens in conjunction with the new WCU600 V3.1 PC software - available from the Opus extranet.
