Niko UK formally opens its doors (2/11/2009)

Niko UK, the UK distribution subsidiary of Belgian home automation ad lighting manufacturer, Niko celebrated the opening of its new UK premises recently.

The opening was attended by leading industry personalities including installers, electricians, and suppliers. The Company’s moved into its new premises in Toddington Bedfordshire in January since when it has been transformed to provide purpose-built training and showroom facilities alongside the administration, technical and shipping offices.

The opening Ceremony was performed by Nadine Dorries, MP who represents Toddington, and the ceremony was also attended by Niko nv Chairman, Jo De Backer, CEO Peter Watteeuw and Sales Director Patrick van Steelandt.

Commenting on the opening, Niko UK MD, Karen Calder said, “We started distributing Niko Home Automation and Lighting Control Products in the UK five years ago. From the very first time that we saw the Niko product range, we recognised what a fantastic business opportunity it would be and so we were confident building our business by making Niko products available in the UK for the first time. Niko UK was launched in January this year and since then, we have benefitted from becoming a full part of the Niko family of companies. The official opening of our offices is the culmination of many months hard work ad we are so proud to have such a fantastic purpose-built facility which makes training and demonstrating the niko product offerings so easy and pleasurable.”

Niko nv Sales Director, Patrick van Steelandt said, “The formation of Niko UK is a recognition by us of the importance of the UK market to the home automation industry. At Niko, we have been closely involved developing products to control lighting and other systems around the home for many years and our association with Karen and Steve proved to us how significant the UK can be as part of our business plan. The ethos of Niko is to work with our customers to help train them and develop their skills so that together we can offer the best solutions. You will see from this room the commitment we have made to provide some of the best free training available. Our goal is to work with our installer and contractor customers to help their businesses grow with ours.“
