Morban Proves Dynalite Dimension Expertise with Christmas Lights for the Burlington Arcade (1/12/2009) It was all going so smoothly at the Burlington Arcade as they planned their annual Christmas lights celebration. The plans were coming on quite nicely, a date for the ‘big switch on’ set for the 19th November, Camilla Parker-Bowles was confirmed to switch on the lights. But connecting the custom designed LED seasonal lighting display to the Dynalite control system was proving to be a technological challenge too far!
Thankfully the Burlington Arcade’s electrical contractors managing contractor Costas Polycarpou, tracked down Dynalite Dimensions experts Morban Ltd via the internet, and in the twinkling of an eye a Morban Authorised Installer was on site. But in spite of his best efforts the sophisticated control system required the specialised skills of a programmer to input a new set of commands to operate the display. So, time to roll out the big guns in the form of Morban Technical Director Gary Morgan. After a couple of quick telephone exchanges with Dynalite National Sales Engineer Phil Hardy all the details of the original installation were located at the Philips Dynalite HQ, and hastily dispatched, allowing Gary to revert all the load centres to the original configuration settings, and commence with the remedial work – again overnight. Next, Gary reworked the Dynalite touchscreen control panel to programme in the required “Christmas Lights On” and “Christmas Lights Off” settings. A few dry runs and everything was set by 1.00 am the night before the big event! It was a close run thing, but as Dynalite Dimensions Dealer Gary Morgan explained, “this is a great example of what makes the Dynalite Dimensions programme so essential. Dynalite have always put customer service and good account management at the top of their list of priorities, but it still wasn’t always that easy for companies working with previously installed systems to be able to get the right levels of continuity in support.” As Philip Hardy of Philips Dynalite adds, ”The Dimensions dealership programme is already proving itself as a valuable additional layer of comfort and assurance for our installed base.
