PMC showcases high-end home cinema and custom installation loudspeakers (17/12/2009)

PMC, the Emmy® award winning British Loudspeaker Company as well as showcasing their entire range, is also launching a new specialist service to custom installers, introducing a bespoke wafer printing option and offering a sneak peak in to a pre-release active model at this year’s ISE.

PMC is a UK based, world-leading manufacturer of professional monitor and audiophile speaker systems. Who can offer loudspeaker configurations for any type of installation, from wireless solutions and on-wall/in-wall monitors to large scale cinemas.

PMC will be exhibiting its newly launched DS-001, a compact, highly adaptable, 200W cutting edge, audiophile Class D, power amplifier with world beating audio performance. Measuring only 130 x 215 x 41 mm, the DS-001 power size and power weight ratios are unequalled and effectively bullet-proof construction ensures superb reliability with audio performance belying both its size and weight. The ultra compact dimensions enable the unit to be used in free standing, rack mounted, wall mounted, or speaker mounted configurations, enabling the highly effective ‘power-packing’ of any number of compact monitor designs, especially useful for free standing surround sound, or console mounted monitor positioning. Accessories include a rack mount kit that creates up to eight individual channels.

PMC is also introducing bespoke printed canvas speaker grilles to compliment the Wafer™ series of on-wall loudspeakers. AML1-MK11 – The AML1 obtained international acclaim as one of the best compact active loudspeakers available. The true analogue circuitry design of the amplifier offered unsurpassed performance via the custom PMC series flat Nomex 6 inch LF driver and the ultra powerful 32mm HF fitted with wide angle dispersion.

The new AML1-MK11 takes the design further with newly introduced micro engineered EQ tilt circuitry, enhanced power supply layouts, revised cabinet structure with additional damping and subtly revised cosmetics.

This no compromise design offers performance that cannot be matched by any other speaker of a similar size and volume, the unique driver arrangement with a crossover point of only 1400hz enables the AML to deliver Astoundingly accurate portrayal of any music or speech.

Due to a significant increase in demand for large scale reference monitor systems worldwide, PMC have also recently introduced a Specialist Systems Group to service the demand. The newly formed group will focus on all high end market sectors of Professional Recording, Broadcast and Custom Installation/Home Theatre and will be headed by Maurice Patist who will take the role of Strategic Sales Manager. The Group will be supported by acoustic design specialist and installation engineering teams of other closely associated companies.

Showcasing on the stand:

PMC will be exhibiting the hugely successful Fact.8® a beautifully poised ATL™ (Advanced Transmission Line) floor-standing model and the first of the exhilarating fact® range that features flexibility of control, chic classic design and an ultimate level of audio transparency.

From the i-series we will be displaying the PB1i – a direct development of the heavy hitting EB1i showing the similar traits of ultra low bass extension, delicate razor sharp imaging and gripping presentation from a slimmer aspect.

We will also be showing the phenomenal MB2XBDi - A substantial monitor with twin twelve inch Radial™ bass units, PMC’s 75mm soft dome mid range and the new i series tweeter, ideal for home cinema systems.

And lastly, the recently launched digitally activated nearfield monitor – the TB2S-AII featuring the new DS-001 will be on demonstration.
