Aldous Systems Shows HAI C3 Celluar Communicator (25/1/2010) Stand 1EF49, ISE 2010 HAI (Home Automation, Inc.), leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, announced that the Cellular Communications Center (C3) was selected as an Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award Honoree in the Wireless Handsets Accessories product category. Additionally, the C3 was selected as an Electronic House TOPS award winner in the Structured Cabling Systems, Multimedia Cabling & Fiber Optics category. The C3 (HAI part number 70A00-1) connects with all standard burglar or fire alarm panels, including HAI controllers, to emulate the phone line signal if there is not one present. The C3 dials out using a cellular network to communicate with a central monitoring station for security panels. It also allows telephone calls to be made or received over the Cellular network using a land line telephone in the home. The central station can call the homeowner for verification in the event of an alarm. The HAI C3 can act as a backup device for remote security monitoring for users without land lines or as a backup for when the land line is cut. The C3 allows homeowners to tie in existing phones and have them all ring when the SIM card phone number is called. This particular application is perfect for homeowners who wants to rid themselves of the landline bill, but keep their existing phone infrastructure. "HAI is honored to win another Innovations Honoree Award and a TOPS award," explains Jay McLellan, HAI President. "Having our engineering efforts recognized by both the Consumer Electronics Association as well as Electronic House is positive reinforcement for our bright team." The C3 ships with an included backup battery and an antenna. It requires a GSM SIM card and cellular service. Users are not tied into any particular GSM plan, and there is no programming required. HAI products are available in the UK through Aldous Systems (Europe) Ltd.
