TC Group unveils new vertical market strategy and invests in building Tannoy’s residential business (17/3/2010) TC Group unveils new vertical market strategy, invests in building Tannoy’s residential business, appoints Tim Lount as Vice President of Residential Sales and Marketing. TC Group has launched TC Group International (TCGI) organisation to drive a new vertical market strategy for all TCGI brands, including Tannoy, TC Electronic, TC Helicon, Blue Microphones, Dynaudio Acoustics, Lab.gruppen and Lake. Tim Lount is appointed Vice President of Tannoy’s residential division to spearhead new product development, marketing and international sales. The move follows a successful implementation of a vertical market strategy across the Americas for TC Group, allowing dedicated teams to focus on Residential, Installation, Touring, MI (Studio Monitors and software) and Broadcast products and their relevant channels. In Europe, the importance of Tannoy’s residential loudspeaker brand means this vertical sector will operate largely autonomously and benefit from even greater focus on new product development and sales support. For Tannoy retailers in the UK, it is business as usual through Icon Distribution UK Limited with only invoicing and credit control going through the new TCGI organisation. “This is a very exciting time in Tannoy’s 80-plus year history, particularly for our residential loudspeaker business,” says Tannoy’s new VP of Residential Sales and Marketing, Tim Lount. “By creating a dedicated residential team everything from new product development to marketing initiatives and retail support will benefit from a cohesive and targeted end-to-end strategy. We aim to build even stronger working relationships with our loyal Tannoy retailers by improving the consistency of supply of our loudspeaker ranges and allowing access to a wider range of products from the TC Group of companies.” Building on the success of 2009 new product launches, including the Revolution, Revolution Signature and the cutting-edge Definition ranges, a host of new residential loudspeakers are planned for 2010. At the very top-end of the residential range Tannoy will unveil a new c.£35,000 per pair flagship loudspeaker at the Munich High-End show in May. The prestigious Kingdom Royal distils eight decades of Tannoy know-how and the latest technologies into a thoroughly modern loudspeaker set to redefine the parameters of music reproduction in the home.
