LEARS International Launches Unique iPad and iPhone Remote Control Programming Service (29/3/2010)

LEARS International launched its new service today focused on providing UK custom installers with a cost effective route for remote control of AV and home automation systems using an iPhone, iPod Touch and the new Apple iPad.

LEARS provides a fixed price cost for designing a bespoke remote control interface to each custom installer's specification. Control of devices can be via a combination of RS232, IR, Relay and IP interfaces. The price of the package includes the control hardware. For instance, a typical entry level central control system with 6 x IR ports, 2 x RS232 and 3 Relays costs just £250 + VAT.

LEARS has spent the last six months developing and fully testing a range of control solutions for the Apple family of handhelds covering products from Rako and Somfy as well as a wide range of audio visual equipment.

An example of the Sky+ HD GUI is attached, showing a fresh take from LEARS of 'why re-invent the wheel'?! The 1024 x 768 dot resolution of the new IPad screen provides sufficient space and resolution to enable a lifelike Sky remote and selection of channel favourites to be displayed on a single screen. All the buttons 'depress' or glow to fully complete the lifelike look.

Pricing: Subject to quotation.
