Anthem AV Solutions Brings Screen Innovations Black Diamond II Screens to the UK (9/4/2010)

UK launch of the revolutionary projection screens from Screen Innovations that give stunning images from front projection even in daylight

Anthem AV Solutions is launching the Screen Innovations product range to the UK market with the stunning new Black Diamond II screens that allow front projector viewing in normal lighting conditions.

The Black Diamond™ II 1.4 gain screen material from Screen Innovations has been amazing customers in America and is now set to cause a revolution here in the UK with its unique ambient light rejection screen technology. This second generation Black Diamond material unleashes the ability to use large screen front projection in environments where previously only plasma and LCD could be used; and even in some scenarios where due to side glare even these technologies are not suitable!

Unlike other light rejection screen materials available, the new Black Diamond™ II 1.4 combines a positive gain material with a wider viewing angle, thus allowing today’s mid-range projectors to be used in bright environments for general viewing applications such as living rooms, games rooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools and even outdoors.

Black Diamond™ II enhances projector performance by creating the ultimate contrast (blacker blacks, whiter whites), colour accuracy, depth of field, and video immersion in both "dark" and "bright" environments. These screens open up the world of projection for use in large screen applications in brighter environments and are ideal for watching big screen events that you don’t want to turn the lights off for, such as the football World Cup this summer.

The benefits of using a Black Diamond II screen with a projector, instead of a large flat panel product, include:

• Cost: a 110” diagonal screen has an MSRP of £3,000 - team this with your favourite projector to obtain the ultimate big screen experience for less than £10,000! A similarly sized large screen LED or LCD would cost nearer £100,000 • Ease of installation: the screen is constructed in the home: no need to remove windows or install RSJs, as is the case with ultra large plasma screens • Energy Saving: today’s projectors use less electricity than a 40” plasma.

Combine these screens with the new generation of energy efficient LED light source projectors coming on to the market that don’t need lamp changes and have instant on/off, and you have the ultimate in large screen solutions with the minimum of installation and running costs that are environmentally friendly as well!

‘Black Diamond II Screens satisfy the growing demand for large screen solutions’ explained Tom Garrett, Technical Product Specialist at Anthem AV Solutions. ‘They deliver dramatically higher picture quality at sharply competitive prices, are equally at home with the lights on or off and satisfy a customer’s requirements to be environmentally conscious. This makes them ideal for family room and multi-purpose installations, which are very popular in the UK.’

Black Diamond II fixed frame screens are custom built to order in any size from 80”–113” diagonal for 16:9 and 80”-142” diagonal for 2.40:1 aspect ratio. The standard finish is a luxurious textured black velvet, but for a small additional charge you can choose from four wood veneer or 10 coloured velvet frame finishes to match the design of the home. Black Diamond II screens are available now in the UK from Anthem AV Solutions.
