KNX UK Offers CIBSE approved CPD on KNX technology (10/5/2010)

Stand J12, CEDIA Home Technology Event 2010

The KNX UK Association (Stand J12) is presenting its CIBSE approved CPD on KNX technology in two separate sessions at the CEDIA Home Technology Event to be held at London EXCEL, 14-17 June. The venue for the CPD is the Conference Theatre on both Tuesday 15 June and Thursday 17 June from 15.00 to 16.00 hours. Attendance is free of charge.

The CPD Presentation includes an Introduction to KNX UK and KNX technology together with details on international standards. It will highlight the energy saving and other benefits of using KNX in home automation and intelligent building projects. Attendees will also find out about KNX certified products and ETS software tools. Applications in both residential and commercial markets are discussed and there will be references to many of the world's outstanding KNX projects.

The KNX CPD Presentation will be of interest to anyone interested in finding out more about this fast growing technology which offers the opportunity to create low carbon footprint, fully integrated intelligent buildings with advantages in terms of energy savings, sustainability, non-duplication of networks, less cabling and reduced installation time & costs. One systems integrator can take responsibility for the whole installation with guaranteed interoperability between KNX certified products.

The KNX platform is now increasingly used by many CEDIA members and this is helping to ensure that installations of residential AV systems and KNX building control systems are considered in harmony. Awareness of the benefits of KNX amongst systems integrators has also been further increased with CEDIA members choosing KNX as their preferred protocol. KNX UK looks forward to welcoming more CEDIA members into the Association as part of its on-going commitment to forging working relationships with major UK trade associations and related organisations.

KNX is celebrating its 20th anniversary as the worldwide standard for home and building control systems. With the approval of the KNX standard as the European standard EN50090 and as the International standard ISO/IEC 14543, the door was opened to global acceptance of KNX intelligent building technology. Twenty years later and there are now 200 KNX product manufacturers in 28 countries throughout the world. There are certified KNX partners in 101 countries and KNX principles are taught worldwide in 147 certified training centres in 27 countries.

KNX is represented in over 20 countries by its KNX national associations, including KNX UK, representing organisations involved in the supply, installation and use of KNX technology. New KNX UK manufacturer members include Hager and Wago.

KNX offers the opportunity to create low carbon footprint, fully integrated intelligent buildings with advantages in terms of energy savings, sustainability, non-duplication of networks, less cabling and reduced installation time & costs. One systems integrator can take responsibility for the whole installation with guaranteed interoperability between KNX certified products.
