Tannoy opens Middle East office (10/5/2010)

Tannoy is delighted to announce the opening of a dedicated regional office serving the needs of the Middle East market, to be headed up by Graham Lawton. The new office, operating as Tannoy Middle East, is based in the heart of Dubai’s Media City development, a major hub for broadcast, music, marketing and creative industries throughout the UAE.

Establishing the new office represents a significant and highly visible step for Tannoy in developing its already expansive operations in the Middle East loudspeaker market, providing technical support to key customers in the installed sound market, as well as acting as a point of contact for regional distributors across all markets that Tannoy is active in.

The company has experienced steady and continued growth in the installed sound market throughout the region in recent years, driven by a reputation for delivering cutting edge premium quality loudspeaker products with the technical support needed to back this up. This fact is perfectly illustrated when you consider that many of the recent high profile developments, particularly in the UAE, feature Tannoy loudspeakers as an integral part of their AV systems. Prestigious projects such as the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis Resort, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, Yas Marina Hotel and Abu Dhabi Airport’s new Terminal 3 are but a few notable examples.

Graham Lawton has extensive industry experience and has worked throughout the Middle East since first arriving there in 1997. Prior to joining Tannoy, Graham previously worked for PMK International Consulting in their Dubai office, Northern Light (UK) and Glantre Engineering (UK).

The new Tannoy Middle East office became operational in March, with Lawton commenting: “This provides a base for us to develop new business opportunities in the local market as well as delivering even higher levels of support to our existing key customers. At a time when business in general has been challenging, it says a lot that Tannoy is bucking the trend, demonstrating that there are still serious growth opportunities in this region.”
