NuVo Technologies Unveils Series of Whole Home Audio Innovations (18/5/2010)

NuVo Technologies, the value leader in whole home audio, will introduce a range of new products on the Stand of its exclusive UK distributor, Habitech, at CEDIA’s Home Technology Event. These will include its new Music Port and Music Port Elite, the Colour Touch Pad and its game-changing Renovia whole home audio system.

NuVo’s new Music Port (MPS4) and Music Port Elite products will be one of the major highlights on show. The MPS4 can cater for up to 4 simultaneous sources, pooling a home’s PC-based audio content, whether in Windows Media Player or iTunes formats, into a comprehensive and easily accessed library, while also allowing for streaming audio from a variety of online services, including RadioTime and LastFM. The MPS4 incorporates a 320 Gb hard drive and is the ideal auto synchronisation tool for music on a home network.

Building on this platform, the Music Port Elite offers dealers important additional functionality. This includes an integral IP control protocol to allow an easy interface with AMX, Crestron, RTI, and URC. Developers can also write their own application to control the unit. Meanwhile, a Cloud backup/synchronization feature will enable the MPS4 Elite to be synchronized with an Internet-based music library, ensuring that the same music can be accessed in different properties by the unit, irrespective of location. Music stored on a NAS drive can also be streamed by the Music Port Elite without being loaded onto the unit’s internal hard drive and a video output on the unit is also available.

Complementing the Music Port and Music Port Elite, the new Colour Touch Pad will also be on display. This features a vivid, full colour 3.6” touch LCD display, for intuitive and stunningly attractive control, extending not only the same easy navigation as NuVo’s other control options, but also affording the unique advantages of displaying album art and providing customisation of personal stations with online radio.

NuVo will also be showcasing its Renovia concept for high-quality, easy-to-install and easy-to-use whole home audio that uses the existing electrical wiring in a home as the infrastructure for delivering audio and metadata from multiple sources to multiple rooms. Based on HomePlug power line carrier (PLC) technology, Renovia will offer integrators a high-quality solution which is much easier to retrofit than traditional systems. Residential integrators visiting the show will be able to see Renovia plug and play components for the first time in the UK.

Dealers who have installed NuVo’s Grand Concerto and Essentia E6G systems will immediately feel comfortable with the Renovia system architecture. Like NuVo’s other systems, all audio sources (save for any NuVoDock iPod docks placed around the house) are centralised and the Renovia’s configuration is similar to that of NuVo’s past systems.

Finally, NuVo’s Digital Power Amplifier will be revealed at the Home Technology Event. This new, lightweight product presents dealers greater installation versatility with a slim, single rack design and selectable ohm rating (4-8 ohm stable). The new 2 x 120 watt amplifier will also appeal to homeowners with ecological concerns, offering an exceptionally high operational efficiency rating and keeping energy consumption below 1 watt in an idle state, qualifying for the ENERGY STAR rating.
