Liberty Announces Arrival of the Intelix Range to its Portfolio (27/5/2010)

Liberty is using the Home Technology Event to announce the arrival of the Intelix range to its portfolio. Intelix is not new to the international field outside America, but its growing range means that new opportunities for more effective system integration are always available. As custom integrators in the US have experienced for over a decade, Intelix delivers professional-grade engineering to meet the widest range of challenges at an affordable price.

Intelix is the industry's largest supplier of complete twisted pair distribution systems, including solutions for audio, video, HDMI, DVI, and USB. Its systems integrate matrix switching, intelligent distribution amplifiers, passive and digital extenders, upscalers and format converters.

Intelix is the first manufacturer to offer a complete, intuitive package for intelligently distributing HDMI in residential and commercial applications. Its system combines professional-grade scaling, format conversion, switching and extension up to 92 metres over single or dual twisted pair cables. It routes up to eight inputs to sixteen destinations, even if the source is analogue, low resolution, or has limited keys. In addition, trademarked Intelix HDshak(r) processing guarantees the bandwidth for desired HDMI 1.3 elements, such as deep color and HD audio, is assigned to the required signals. Dynamic presets and enhanced control options provide seamless integration with third-party control systems and hardware. Finally, HDMI meets install.

Liberty's Intelix range will include DIGI-HDMI matrix switchers, CAT5 extension devices (BALUNS) and DIGI-SCAL signal converters, which, in combination, will solve the vast majority of integration conundrums.

HDMI matrix switching

Recently introduced is the DIGI-HDMI-8x8, a professional-grade matrix switcher with eight HDMI inputs, eight HDMI outputs, and eight twisted pair extender outputs. It combines Intelix's matrix switching technology with its industry-leading twisted pair extenders, providing an easy-to-use, flexible, and powerful solution for residential, commercial, and digital signage audio-visual applications.

The DIGI-HD-8X8 routes eight HDMI inputs to eight HDMI outputs and eight twisted pair extender outputs, both of which are active simultaneously. When used in conjunction with a compatible Intelix twisted pair receiver, the matrix extends output signals up to 45 metres over standard-grade Cat 5e or Cat 6. Plus, the DIGI-HD-8X8 is the first Intelix matrix to incorporate HDshak(r) processing-revolutionary EDID negotiation technology which ensures source and destination handshaking over twisted pair cable.

In addition to routing audio and video signals, the DIGI-HD-8X8 features eight pass-through IR channels which distribute remote IR commands from in-room controllers over the twisted pair cable and out of the matrix, thereby allowing complete control of source devices connected to the matrix, such as DVD players and receivers.

The DIGI-HD-8X8 supports 1080i and 1080p high-definition video, and is HDMI 1.3b and HDCP compliant. The system provides diagnostics and control via a built-in front panel touch screen or remotely via RS232, IR, Ethernet, or with an included wireless remote control.

CAT 5 extension devices

Intelix offers the broadest line of audio/video over twisted pair extenders in the professional AV marketplace, including solutions for multiple formats of audio and video, VGA, DVI, HDMI, USB, and PS2. For instance, the Intelix DIGI-HDMI-HR-R receiver connects seamlessly to the twisted pair outputs of the DIGI-HDMI-8X8, extending 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i video up to 45 metres over two runs of unshielded twisted pair cable. The Intelix DIGI-HDMI-IR-R extends IR control signals and 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i video up to 150 feet over two runs of unshielded twisted pair cable, and IR control signals and 1080p video up to 30 metres over two runs of unshielded twisted pair cable.

DIGI-SCAL signal converters

How do you integrate multiple analogue and digital devices into a single, comprehensive high-definition environment? The answer is Intelix. The DIGI-SCAL-11X2 is ideal for integrating legacy, non-HD equipment into a distributed high-definition audio-visual system. It provides switching between eleven different audio-visual sources, upscaling them to 720p or 1080p, and converting them to HDMI.

The unit features five stereo audio inputs, four HDMI inputs, two YPbPr inputs, two composite video inputs, one S-video input, one VGA input, one DVI-I input, and one optical digital audio input. Dual HDMI outputs allow two displays to be driven simultaneously, and separate optical and stereo audio outputs provide connectivity to analogue audio reinforcement systems.

Third-party control systems integrate seamlessly via RS232 and IR, and the unit may also be controlled via the front panel or with an included wireless remote control. In addition, built-in video processing provides picture adjustment.
