Adeo presents Biformat and Multiformat home cinema screens (28/5/2010)

Two screens deserving a place of honour in your sitting room: one video projection will be enough to crown our new models Biformat and Multiformat as the undisputed stars of your home cinema.

With these innovations, Adeo takes an important step forward in Home Theatre screen engineering, offering a variety of formats for an always new projection experience.

Multiformat distinguishes itself through the possibility of memorising up to 7 different formats, thanks to the presence of two surfaces (a top ‘masking’ canvas, and an underlying projection surface), secured to two independent rollers: by synchronising these, it is possible to obtain different projection formats, and images that are always edged in black.

The world of video-projection offers many formats, depending on the matrix fitted on the projector (4:3, 5:4, 16:9, 16:10 and the presence of anamorphic optics, if applicable); on the type of projection (home cinema or data); and on the kind of film projected (1.33 – 1.66 – 1.78 – 1.85 – 2.35 – 2.40 aspect ratio). Multiformat enables the spectator to personalise projections each time, keeping in step with the evolution and changes of current cinema formats.

Equally important is the rollers’ vertical alignment, designed to reduce as much as possible the distance between the top masking canvas and the projection surface, to avoid the formation of shadows during projection.

Also worthy of notice is the motor with integrated radio encoder: its new programming logic simplifies all calibration procedures through the high precision adjustment of end-stops. Standard accessories include two remote controls, one for programming the various formats and one for operating the screen. But most importantly, all the hardware and software are inside the motor, so it is no longer necessary to install an external control panel to programme and use the screen.

And finally, the special 7 cm non-varnished, anti-reflective black edges which frame the projection surface.

Biformat is characterised by the presence of two projection surfaces inside the same case: these can be ordered in various formats and canvas types, in line with Adeo’s exclusive Personal Screen System. Both surfaces are finished with special 5 cm black edges, enhancing contrast of the projected image.

The screen is supplied complete with mechanical motors or, alternatively, with integrated radio encoder variant.

Furthermore, in order to render each product technically and aesthetically complete, and capable of maintaining a leading position in the home cinema panorama, Multiformat and Biformat have certain features in common – in addition to their specific characteristics – which are:

planarity, of primary importance, ensured by the front drop of the canvas and by our screens’ special anchoring to the roller, which eliminates any problems of horizontal creases;

our installation method: Adeo has devised a rapid assembly system, for mounting the screen in a few simple steps; and,

our classic tensioning system: Multiformat and Biformat are also available in a tensioned version, with two elastic cables departing from the base and threaded through same-size eyelets placed along the sides of the screen: the lateral arches thus formed ensure harmonious aesthetics and crease-proof rolling.

Adeo is proud to present its two new entries: the result of a long and meticulous research and development process, aimed at satisfying every possible requirement of the challenging sector of home cinema, where high standards and punctilious attention to detail are the rule. The quality achieved will not fail to capture the attention of the discerning public.
