Unicam Showcases Latest Distribution and Conversion Products from Audio Authority (31/5/2010)

Stand F11, CEDIA Home Technology Event 2010

Unicam, distributors for Audio Authority, will be showcasing their newest signal distribution and conversion products. Demonstrations will include the new revolutionary 2800 series HDMI over IP solution. This system promises to be a pacesetting solution for HDMI video distribution. Also on show will be new signal distribution and conversion products that offer the installers higher profit margins and the flexibility to distribute a mixture of analogue and HDMI signals over CAT5/6, as well as distributed Audio.

NEW Products for 2010

2800 Series HDMI over IP

Benefiting from the latest Gigabit high speed data technology, this IP solution leapfrogs other HDMI over IP products that deliver noticeably compressed picture. It provides significantly improved reliability and faster handshake speed compared to traditional HDMI distribution systems that use standard HDMI cabling or balun extenders. With picture quality that will please even the most discerning enthusiast, and the reliability that installers demand, 2800 series opens a new world of no-compromise HDMI installations. Unicam understands the need for exceptional picture quality and bulletproof reliability in installations, and sought to market a product that delivers HDMI picture quality with component video reliability. This is a system without compromise,” said Trent Davis, Audio Authority’s product manager.

Unicam plans to introduce a matrix-switching enabled version of the system later this year. The 3800 series, as it will be known, will support numerous sources and an almost unlimited number of HDTV displays. With added extra such as, 5.1 / 7.1 audio, onboard RS-232 control, no need to write complex and unique control drivers for each third party managed switch.

2800 Series Features:
* Supports 1080p and 720p video plus digital audio
* Uses Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure for exceptional picture quality
* HDMI version 1.3 compliant, HDCP version 2.0 compliant.
* One source delivers pristine picture to 127 HDTVs
* Plug-and-play operation – no programming or setup required
* Requires only one Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable for transmission
* Single runs of 1080p content can be distributed upwards of 250 feet.
* Run lengths can be doubled by inserting a Gigabit Router in the signal path
* Shipping in May, 2010

HLX Series

Forget using a different matrix for each unique application - HLX is one platform that can be used for almost anything. Repeatable installations mean more profit, easier design, and simpler maintenance. The HLX family offers ten different input and output cards*, providing almost any combination of inputs, outputs, and signal types to perfectly fit your installation.

HLX Series Features:
* Ethernet, RS-232, IR, and front panel controls
* Breakaway switching (switch video and audio independently)
* Mixed signal distribution support - use a mix of Cat 5 and coaxial cables in one system
* Unique ExpressRamp™ volume control for each zone*
* Onboard 10-band EQ for each zone
* Redesigned and improved 2-way IR routing system
* Simple PC-based setup
* One-step USB firmware updates
* Integrated modular power supply

Input Cards:
* Component Video with Analogue and Digital Audio, VGA (RGBHV) Video with Analogue Audio, Analogue Audio, Composite/S-Video with Analogue and Digital Audio.

Output Cards:
* Component Video with Analogue and Digital Audio, VGA (RGBHV) Video with Analogue Audio, Dual Cat 5 (with Component Video and Analogue/Digital Audio), Single Cat 5 (with Component Video and Digital Audio), Dual Cat 5 (with VGA and Analogue Audio), Analogue Audio.

AMP-1235

A compact, high-performance zone amplifier designed for multi-room/multi-zone audio installations. The Amp provides 35 watts per channel with all twelve channels driven. Bridged mode enables higher power output. The AMP-1235 can be used independently, or as a companion product to the AVAtrix Cat 5 Matrix System. Up to three AMP-1235 amplifiers can be used with an AVAtrix system to create a maximum system capacity of 18 unique listening zones. The AVAtrix provides switched audio outputs to each AMP-1235 via an Audio Router (Model 1173BK), coordinating each room’s audio program with the video program being received on an AVAtrix Cat 5 zone receiver.

AMP-1235 Features
* 35 Watts x 12 channels into 8 Ohm load
* Each amp channel can select one of two bus inputs, or its local input
* Variable gain adjustments on each input to match signal levels
* Bridgeable for greater output power
* Low power standby mode when no channels are playing
* Optional "auto-off" per channel
* 12v trigger for remote turn-on
