Habitech Announces Pending Release of Stealth Acoustics High-Performance Invisible Speaker Line (3/6/2010) Habitech, UK distributor of Stealth Acoustics invisible speakers, is announcing new model versions that enhance fidelity, high-frequency smoothness and bass performance over previous models, while streamlining installation practices. Building upon proven and award-winning custom carbon-fibre motor and cone woofer technologies, Stealth has created a new invisible speaker panel that is a direct replacement of the existing FX and AX lines and maintains the same basic model alignments and performance ratios of the existing models, only with enhanced sonic performance.
The Linear Response (LR) Series of invisible in-wall or in-ceiling speakers from Stealth incorporate an all-new polymetric face-panel material which provides a flatter front surface area, minimising the need for plaster or fill materials to be placed on the face-panel prior to final finishing with normal paint, wallpaper or other previously supported finishes. In prior models, slight variations in the face-panel sometimes required a light skim coat of plaster to fully flatten the panel face. By eliminating this requirement and revising the speaker’s edge to more easily receive tape and joint compound, the installation and finishing becomes easier and consistency of the speakers’ performance across various installations is improved. The new face-panel material also improves the audio response characteristics of Stealth’s invisible speakers, by providing a warmer-sounding high frequency response and more bass output. The LR Series has the exact same height and width dimensions as the models being replaced, and the minimum 3.5” (88mm) depth required behind the speakers remains unchanged. However, the panel-face is now 1/6” (1.58mm) thinner than before, resulting in a native panel face depth of 7/16” (12mm) making the panel more suitable for mating with certain wallboard sizes used internationally. The basic mounting attachment and shimming processes remain unchanged. Power handling has been increased to overcome a change in efficiency. The new product line up: LR6: New 6” two-way invisible speaker with better overall performance - especially bass response. Simplified installation. Biggest audible difference from previous FX series. Power handling increased from 80W to 100W. Sensitivity: 81dB 1w/1m. LR8: New 8” two-way invisible speaker with better overall performance, smoother response and more bass output. Simplified installation. Power handling increased from 80W to 120W. Sensitivity: 81dB 1w/1m. LR3: New 8” high-performance three-way invisible speaker with Balanced Drive Midrange(tm) stage, better overall performance, smoother response and more bass output. Simplified installation. Power handling increased from 150W to 200W. Sensitivity: 81dB 1w/1m. B-22: Single 8” subwoofer panel - B22 upgraded with new face material offering more bass extension. Model number remains unchanged. B-30: Dual 8” subwoofer panel - B1630 upgraded with new face material. New model number is simplified to just B-30. Stealth will be releasing the new Linear Response speaker line in a staged approach as inventories of existing models are exhausted. www.habitech.co.uk/stealth.htm
