Naim adds iPhone app to Wireless Multi-Room UnitiSystem (17/6/2010)

Stand B3, CEDIA Home Technology Event 2010

Home Technology Event ExCel London 15 June 2010. Naim today confirmed the release of the iPhone and iPod Touch control app for the UnitiSystem. The app completes the UnitiSystem line up.

UnitiSystem is the first wireless multi-room system from a high-end hi-fi manufacturer.

UnitiSystem comprises the UnitiServe hard disk player / server, NaimUniti and UnitiQute all-in-one audio players controlled by a dedicated iPhone / iPod Touch app.

The increasing popularity of audio streaming around the home has led to the development of wireless multi-room systems that put streaming at the centre of their offerings. UnitiSystem is the first system of its kind launched by an audiophile brand, bringing genuine high fidelity audio to wireless multi-room.

Naim's new UnitiSystem system delivers flexibility, ease of installation and performance to the consumer. He or she may be thinking of starting a multi-room system with one room or two but wants the ability to expand later should the desire or the finances allow. This is a lower commitment and lower early investment than a full multi-room CI system like NaimNet would entail. The clever part, however, is that should the owner decide later that NaimNet is the ideal solution to the family needs the UnitiSystem products will completely integrate. UnitiServe is StreamNet enabled and will operate as a fully NaimNet server and deliver six independent streams as well as remaining a best in class UPnPTM server.

Equally clever, is that the owners of Naim hi-fi systems (or indeed any hi-fi system) can add a UnitiSystem for second-room use and use UnitiServe as the high-end source for their existing system. UnitiServe is based on the award-winning and highly regarded Naim HDX Hard Disk Player. The digital output from UnitiServe played into a suitable DAC or digital input-equipped amplifier is capable of the inherent sonic compromises. This is a true high-fidelity component.

Naim Uniti

The single case contains a CD player and a multi-format tuner delivering FM, DAB and internet radio together with an onboard DAC and integrated amplifier with a whole host of analogue and digital inputs. It can also stream digital media from any UPnP server and has iPod connectivity. You can even connect a turntable, if you so wish.

UnitiQute

The compact case contains a multi-format tuner delivering FM, DAB and internet radio, a DAC and amplifier together with a whole host of analogue and digital inputs. It can also stream digital media from any UPnP server and has iPod connectivity.

UnitiServe

UnitiServe is a compact, slot-loading, CD-ripping, hard disk music player and server based on the technology of the multi-award-winning Naim HDX. It takes the fundamentals of the HDX; a massive internal hard disk drive, Naim bit-perfect ripping, Ethernet connection, UPnP server, StreamNet technology and local digital outputs, and combines them with a set of features perfectly suited to music in the home of today, and tomorrow.

UnitiServe £2000.00, NaimUniti £2100, UnitiQute £1350, Control app for iPhone / iPod Touch £25
