Philips Dynalite appoints AWE as UK distributor (2/7/2010)

Lighting control and automation solutions provider, Philips Dynalite, has appointed leading residential AV equipment distributor, AWE Europe, as its primary value-added reseller (VAR) in the United Kingdom. AWE will now be the exclusive source of Philips Dynalite systems for the UK custom installation and residential sectors. The solution-set on offer includes Philips Dynalite’s extensive range of controllers, user panels/keypads and network interfacing components that enable advanced levels of lighting control, energy management and seamless integration with third-party control systems.

“The decision to appoint AWE was easy,” said Paul Wilmshurst, Business Development Director for Philips Dynalite’s European Central Application Group. “They are the biggest and the best distributor in the UK’s custom installation sector, and have won all kinds of awards—not to mention the awards for Best Trade Supplier and Best Training Initiative at this year’s CEDIA awards. AWE is also the distributor for the Philips Pronto control solution, so all the pieces simply fit together. The company has unrivalled sales and technical support and we are thrilled they have come onboard.”

AWE also assumes responsibility in the UK for the Philips Dynalite Dimension dealer network—a dealer accreditation and training framework that provides standardised training, improved access to technical support, and essential marketing support to all accredited companies and individuals. “We are confident AWE will raise the Dimension program to the next level,” Wilmshurst said. “With an extensive dealer network already established, they are in the ideal position to fully support all our existing dealers—plus bring new ones into the fold.”

The agreement, signed in May, comes into force in June with a full launch at the CEDIA Home Technology Event 2010. Existing Philips Dynalite clients can look forward to hearing from AWE in the imminent future.
