Crestron introduces latest DigitalMedia Wall Plate Transmitter (14/7/2010)

Crestron has announced the release of the  DM-TX-200-2G wall plate transmitter, which ensures simple and convenient connectivity for computers, laptops and the latest digital sources such as MacBooks® and Blu-ray players.

The DM-TX-200-2G enables switching between one HDMI and one RGB input. The HDMI input supports HDMI with HDCP; WUXGA computer resolutions, and 1080p60 HDTV with multi-channel lossless audio. All signals are digitally transmitted up to 135 metres over DigitalMedia™ (DM) cable. A DM-TX-200-2G installs anywhere in the room for easy access, and can be wall, lectern or floor-mounted using a standard double-gang box.

"DM wall plates give you remote input connectivity for virtually any AV source," explains Robin van Meeuwen, Managing Director at Crestron UK. "They are the perfect solution for integrating digital and analogue sources via a single cable."

A USB HID device port allows a mouse/keyboard to control a computer or other host device in another part of the room or a central equipment rack. DM provides a seamless upgrade path from analogue to digital without replacing installed equipment. The Crestron MPS, for example, is engineered to transmit all analogue signals from the MPS to the DM-TX-200-2G over one VGA cable. A single DM cable connects the transmitter to a DM matrix switcher or room controller, which sends HDMI to the display.

Crestron DigitalMedia is the only complete, integrated solution for the digital age, accepting all analogue audio and video, high-res computer, HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, Ethernet and USB keyboard / mouse control and distributing them over a single copper wire or fibre.
