Guifx Announces Victoria User Interface Kit Offering Compatibility With Crestron's Mobile G iPad Application (4/8/2010)

Elegant UI Provides Unprecedented Ease of Use for Intuitive Control Experience; Offers Compatibility With Crestron's Mobile G iPad(TM) Application

Guifx, an interface design studio specializing in touchscreen interfaces for home automation and embedded systems, today announced the release of its Victoria User Interface (UI) Kit(TM). The ultimate control interface for operating distributed audio, video, and whole-house climate, lighting, and security systems, Victoria offers unprecedented ease of use with simple, intuitive navigation, and an elegant design that is right at home in any high-end environment. Providing uncompromising convenience at home or away, Victoria is Guifx's first UI to be compatible with Crestron's Mobile G iPad(TM) application. Designed with ease of use in mind, the Victoria UI offers a unique control experience with Guifx's QuicKey(TM) navigation system. Navigating away from an A/V activity to quickly adjust lights or climate settings becomes a simple, one-touch operation. Non-A/V activities open in a modal window, which is simply closed to return to the previous screen and back to the automation functions.

Unlike solutions with floor plan navigation, Victoria utilizes a room grid layout, providing an organized method of selecting and receiving feedback from rooms. Icons representing each room or zone improve the user experience even further by speeding up visual recognition. To provide a gentler user experience in darkened conditions, such as when operating a dedicated home theater, a low-light mode dims the background to be less distracting and easier on the user's eye.

The aesthetics of Victoria live up to the high expectations of estate owners with luxurious tastes. The elegant UI offers six themes to seamlessly blend into any setting: light, medium, and dark, each available with a wood grain or soft-wash finish. Through Crestron's Mobile G iPad application, users have complete access to Victoria and their systems from virtually anywhere in the world.

"We are very proud to introduce our new Victoria UI Kit. For infrequent users such as houseguests, who have had little or no interaction with the interface, it is exceptionally easy to use," said Morgan Strauss, director of operations at Guifx. "In addition, our room grid layout offers several advantages over floor plan navigation, which can be difficult in massive, multifloor dwellings. Add to this the simplicity of our QuicKey navigation, a low-light mode, and a sophisticated, elegant design, and you have the ultimate interface for any high-end environment."

The Victoria UI Kit is available for download now on Guifx's website (www.guifx.com) in sizes ranging from 240 x 320 to 1280 x 768. Currently, the UI is available for Crestron systems, with other vendors to be added in the coming weeks. Pricing starts at $499.99 for a 240 x 320 kit, while the Crestron Mobile G Kit is available for $799.99. A bundle is available that includes all sizes in addition to the Crestron Mobile Kit for $2,999.99.
