devolo Launches New dLAN Cockpit Powerline Software for Home Users (11/8/2010)

Powerline networking specialist devolo is launching the dLAN Cockpit, the first comprehensive powerline software for home users. The downloadable software enables users to monitor and optimise their dLAN home network.

The dLAN Cockpit control panel shows the connection speed of all adapters in the dLAN network and gives users the option to have control over encryption and configuration. In addition the software provides devolo updates to help the dLAN adapters perform better, allowing for network-wide configuration for the first time.

Through the new software, users will be able to access other features including a software wizard providing tips to optimise network speeds. In addition to the functional aspect, devolo has made the software easy to use for beginners and experienced users.

Peter Huddleston, UK operations manager at devolo, says: "We found that many of our users wanted the ability to monitor and control their network using a software tool. The dLAN cockpit combines the functionality of the dLAN products with new tools and features for home users.

"Our easy installation of the adapters combined with the new control panel provides our dLAN products with more advantages than ever."

The software is suitable for all dLAN 200 AV devices and is available for download for all current Microsoft operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista and 7. Versions for Mac OS X and Linux X will follow. dLAN Cockpit is available on the software CD included with the devolo adapters and can also be downloaded for dLAN users free of charge from the devolo website.
