LiteTouch iPhone App Delivers Mobile Control and Energy Savings (27/8/2010)

CEDIA US Expo 2010

Unique App Feature Helps Homeowners Instantly and Effortlessly Reduce Their Energy Consumption

Today LiteTouch, a leading lighting control system manufacturer, announced a new iPhone app that will allow homeowners to use their iPhone to control their lighting, HVAC, security, window blinds, AV and other home systems which are integrated into their LiteTouch FIVEk lighting control and automation system.

The app will allow homeowners to activate any button of any LiteTouch keypad in their home. It will also allow them to assign and quickly access “My Favorite” functions; get the status of any lighting load; remotely adjust light levels; and activate other integrated automation systems.

The LiteTouch app also includes a unique feature designed to help homeowners reduce energy consumption by choosing to dim lights throughout the home, or by activating other energy reduction pre-set programming.

“Many consumers want to reduce their overall energy consumption, but often they feel that they can’t do it easily or measurably. We wanted to add something to our application that would let homeowners visibly see the effect of energy reduction, and allow homeowners a quick way to reduce their daily carbon footprint,” said LiteTouch Vice President of Sales and Marketing Angie Larson.

The new iPhone app will be available on September 23, the first day of the CEDIA Expo in Atlanta, where LiteTouch will be introducing the app to dealers and the custom installation community. The LiteTouch app will need to be activated and authenticated by a LiteTouch Dealer to set-up user parameters and connection details to prevent unauthorized access. Further details will soon be available at the company web site LiteTouch.com.

The LiteTouch app is also compatible with iPod Touch and iPad. Broad Web Access, plus Blackberry and Droid apps are expected to follow.
