Redline Announces Amina’s New Evolution Family of Invisible Speakers (27/1/2012)

To be unveiled at ISE 2012 the new Amina Evolution range is using two new technologies;

1) “Opti-Drive” technology significantly boosts the panel’s modal energy giving an increased high frequency output.

2) “Opti-Damping” and exciter technology increases low frequency extension, enabling the Evolution range to have a greater bass definition at higher volumes, creating a smoother polar response to ensure every space is filled with detailed and tonally rich sound.

When combined with its natural non-correlated energy wave (which means boundary reflections are essentially additive), every listener gets to appreciate exceptional audio clarity and acoustic imaging. The technological advances featured in the Evolution family reduces the number of panels for a given room size when compared to the conventional speaker. The Evolution Series is capable of filling spaces with well-balanced sound, reducing the ‘hotspot’ characteristics of conventional cone speakers, resulting in a wonderful atmosphere across the home. The Evolution Series raises the benchmark in the world of completely invisible loudspeakers.

Amina’s Hidden Audio speakers have a variety of residential applications. The installation instructions are comprehensive and easy to follow. Once installed and tested, you just plaster over them with a final skim coat of 2mm traditional multi-finish plaster, lime plaster, natural clays or even polished plaster. The resulting surface finish is no different to the rest of the room, making the product disappear entirely, allowing the client to enjoy the freedom of placing their furniture where ever they choose!

Amina’s hidden audio solutions can equally be applied to wooden cabinetry, panelling finished with real wood veneers, high gloss lacquers and high pressure laminates. It is also very applicable in wet (bathrooms, spas and pools) areas where, once plastered in and painted, the product is not only completely unseen, but itself resides in the dry ceiling cavity outside the wet zone avoiding all humidity or chemical derived deterioration.

The first product implementation using the new “OptiDrive” technology will be the AIW350E, which is available to ship immediately. It boosts an impressive efficiency rating of 84dB, 1m/1w, and that is after applying a full 2mm skim coat and finishing with usual decoration material such as paint or wall paper. It has a maximum continuous power rating of 40w and peak power rating of 80w.

Amina will be releasing the 80w (160w peak) AIW550E “Opti-Drive” based product towards the end of February and the flagship 120W (240W PEAK) two panel, bi-wire connected AIW750 in the first quarter of 2012.

The Evolution family utilises the company’s existing range of steel and aluminium sound isolation backbox accessories available for fire rated plenums, block wall structures, stud walls and ceilings.
