NAD Adds T787 and T777 AV Receivers to its Home Cinema Line-up (30/7/2012)

NAD has announced two new high-end products targeted to both the home and the custom install market, the T787 and T777 AV Receivers. Both models manifest NAD’s foundational approach to Home Cinema Receiver design and, alongside the T748 and T757, represent NAD’s strongest AV line-up ever. All models make the perfect partner to the highly regarded NAD T567 Blu Ray Player.

The T787 and T777 both come with sturdy, very low distortion and are 7-channel amplifiers that are power output rated at 4 ohms with all channels driven across the full 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range. Two Toroidal transformers supply power separately to the front (left and right) and surround channels for true seven-channel power with improved balance and efficiency.

The T787 is rated at 120 wpc, and that is supported by the use of one power transformer dedicated solely to the front left and right channels, and a second transformer supplying the needed current to rest of the channels. The T777’s single transformer supplies enough current to enable its amplifier to still deliver a full 80 wpc. Both units provide Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, as well as analogue-to-HDMI video conversion and switching (1080p and 3D compatible) and also feature six HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs (Audio Return Channel is also supported).

On the audio side, NAD has included its EARS surround mode. For two-channel audiophiles both models incorporate provisions for operating a two-channel 2nd Zone and for connecting an iPod via optional IPD 2 Docking Station. In addition, to make speaker setup easier, both units provide the Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction system. Another innovation is NAD's MDC (Modular Design Construction) which provides owners the availability to install hardware, as well as firmware upgrades (extra cost may be required).
