CEDIA partners with Sunday Times British Homes Award with the introduction of Best Smart Home category

CEDIA has announced a partnership with the Sunday Times British Homes Awards celebrating exceptional designs in all things home as well as supporting a new category that recognises smart homes.

The Sunday Times British Homes Awards, which are being held on 19th September at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, honours every aspect of housebuilding including one-off houses, major developments, interiors, landscaping, individual extensions, and more.

This year however, a Best Smart Homes category has been introduced and CEDIA has partnered with the awards to support this. The new category comes after the event directors recognised the rise in smart homes and the changing needs in today’s society.

CEDIA members are encouraged to enter the new category, where they will receive a 15 per cent entry discount. The category will be judged by CEDIA’s senior vice president of Industry Engagement, Giles Sutton along with a panel of designers, architects, and homebuilders.

“We are excited to support The Sunday Times British Homes Awards,” says Matt Nimmons, CEDIA’s managing director, EMEA. “The scheme is renowned for attracting a varied range of high-quality entries. Our strategic partnership will help us build awareness and visibility for CEDIA and give our members the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, professionalism, and excellence in front of this important design and build community.”

“Since 2007, the Sunday Times British Homes Awards have gained momentum and are now seen as a well-recognised opportunity for the biggest names in housebuilding, architecture, and interior design to showcase their work,” comments Will Kendrick, business director, Haymarket Business Media (owner Sunday Times British Homes Awards). “We have introduced the Best Smart Home category within these Awards to reflect society’s changing needs. This ensures that we have opportunities for those integrating innovative, cutting edge technology to promote their projects. As a result, CEDIA's growing membership of companies that design, manufacture, and install technology for the home, make them the perfect partner for the Sunday Times British Homes Awards.”

Entries are now open and will close 2nd May 2019.
