Following an announcement from Boris Johnson last Friday that conferences and exhibitions can resume from 1 October 2020, EI Live! 2020 has confirmed the show will go ahead, but with a slight change in dates.
Having already rescheduled the show to take place on 19-20 October 2020, the event organiser, All Things Media, has now changed this to the 21-22 October.
David Kitchener, managing director of All Things Media, explained: “The show was postponed until 19 and 20 October, but this meant that the two build days would have been Saturday and Sunday, and no one really wants to work at the weekend! Having been discussing with the venue, Farnborough International, they can now give us 19-20 October for the build days and 21-22 October for the show days, which I believe will work much better.”
EI Live! 2020 is set to be the first event held for the CI industry since the world went into lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Usually taking place on the first night of the show, it is not yet clear if the Smart Building Awards dinner will happen in person this year. However, organisers have said that if it has to be cancelled to keep attendees safe, they will hold it as a virtual event.
