Italian manufacturer Sonus faber has unveiled the Venere S, the new flagship loudspeaker of the company’s Venere collection, which was launched three years ago.
Touted as the most advanced of all the Venere speakers, the Venere S is a three-way speaker with three 180mm woofers. Entirely designed and assembled by hand in Arcugnano (Italy), the speaker is an ideal bridge between the Venere and Olympica product families. The S, which stands for Signature, unlike its Venere siblings, features a new design for the reflex port. Instead of being positioned on the front baffle to reduce interactions with the listening environment making it easier to set-up, the reflex port has been fitted in the lower part of the cabinet, directly facing the floor, “this way the purity of the sound is not contaminated by the spurious vibrations generated by its powerful drivers,†the company has explained.
Building on the experience gained from the Olympica collection, the baskets of the Venere S drivers are custom made for Sonus faber in die-cast metal with "Ultra Free Compression" design to minimise the acoustic interference generated by the moving parts of the transducers.
Sleek and modern, the Venere S features brushed aluminum around each driver and brushed black aluminum plate base with diamond edge. It is available in three finishes: white, black, and wood.
